Malibu, CA

Amber & Nick decided to have a destination wedding on the coast at The Adamson House, a historic Spanish-themed venue in Southern California. The venue's ocean views, the upbeat wedding party, the stunning bride and groom, and the organization of the wedding vendors (catering was amazing) made this event perfect.

Adamson House Malibu

Amber & Nick's wedding day at the Spanish-styled house and estate in Southern California. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day at this beach wedding venue. The venue's ocean views, the upbeat wedding party, the stunning bride and groom, and the organization of the wedding vendors (catering was amazing) made this a beautiful wedding. The number of details, love, and passion the wedding coordinator/planner, Helen Cho, put into this day was beautiful. It truly made my job as a wedding photographer very easy.

We began with getting ready for photos at The M Malibu. The bride and bridesmaids spent time helping each other get ready and drinking champagne. We opened up the day by taking photographs outside at the pool with the bridesmaids popping a champagne bottle. The groom and groomsmen were a little more laid back, helping each other get on ties and suits. After they finished, everyone got in their cars and took a short drive on PCH (we all know how Malibu traffic can be) we were able to park and arrive on time.

When everyone arrived at the venue, we wanted to photograph the bride getting on her dress. Both mothers of the bride helped her with her jewelry and walked her out the door. One of the most memorable moments to capture was the first look with her bridesmaids. The bridesmaid's faces were so unique. Some cried, some laughed and smiled, and some were in awe of how gorgeous she looked. The groomsmen took photographs on the property directly in front of the home on the stone steps. I have to tell you, this group of guys was more excited to get their photographs taken than any group I've worked with. The modern but classy suits they chose went perfectly with their wedding theme.

Guests started to arrive and made their way to the historic home. The ceremony was under big tree steps away from the beach. Short, sweet, lovely, and beautiful is the best way to describe this event. After the kiss, the guests and the party couldn't wait to get to cocktail hour to celebrate. The catering team passed out appetizers, the limes had the guest's seat reservations, the mariachi band played beautiful music, and the tortillas, salsa, dancing, and gorgeous colors made this event a perfectly themed Spanish wedding. One thing to note, since this wedding venue is a museum, you can give tours during your wedding, highlighting the gorgeous architecture of the Adamson house. I was only reminded about the history after seeing some of the Spanish tiles and how they were blocked off.

After cocktail hour, the bride and groom danced the night away at their reception. The live band played so many hits, and people could not get off the dance floor or even enjoy their food! The send-off was special too. No sparklers, but a send-off using lights on your cell phone can be just as spectacular.

Thank you again for allowing us to document this stunning, fun, and special event! It was a joy to see the love you shared, and we are happy to present the photos to you. If you are looking for a fine art wedding photographer, look no further. Adamson House is perfect if you are getting married and looking for a Spanish-style house or estate in southern California.
